Cartoons and their toys

So I went to see the new Disney film Frozen today, and I must say I loved it! I just checked out the toys on the Disney Store and I'm adding the 3 main character dolls to my Christmas Wishlist.

It got me thinking about the toys of my childhood and how the TV shows were basically super long adverts. My Little Pony, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors are the ones I remember the most. They'd add new characters or vehicles to the show they could add new toys to the line up.

I've noticed with some of the toys I collect now that the toys come before the shows. Theytoys were developed first and then had their own little show produced. Monster High, Zelfs and EverAfter High toys don't have mainstream cartoons as such, they do however have "Webisodes." Webisodes being short little cartoons available to watch on the internet.

I actually quite enjoy tuning in to watch these Webisodes despite the fact they are aimed at children. I'm not sure if they actually make me want to purchase the particular characters more though, but then I am a collector. The Monster High cartoon is my current favourite, but I haven't really looked that much into the Ever After High cartoon much. The animation style looks lovely though!

Monster High has the highest budget for its shows, with quite a few TV specials and movies under its belt.

Edit ---

Even the Pinkie Cooper dolls have their own Webisodes!
